Riot releases TFT Set 4.5 news

Posted by keshiakimber1 1st February 2021 in BLOG

I am sure everyone’s been enjoying Fates as much as I have, and now Riot is blessing us with their mid Sett expansion. (get it, like Sett, cause he’s a 5 cost?)

With the mid set expansion Riot’s taking away some of the old, while bringing in the new, and reviving some old units of the past, some of which I’m sure players will be delighted to see.

TFT Set 4.5 news: What’s leaving?

It’s finally the sunsetting of Dusk. With it means saying goodbye to some of our favourite hard ability scaling champions.

With the removal of Dusk, we’ll be seeing Vayne, Thresh, Cassiopeia, Riven and Lillia leaving. So make sure you get the most LP possible by running that Dusk Jhin while you can.

Champions leaving: Vayne, Thresh, Cassiopeia, Riven and Lillia

Moonlight, the time has finally come. And thank goodness. No longer will we see Aphelios running amuck murdering everyone, or Triple spell-crit gloves Lissandra.

Champions leaving: Lissandra, Aphelios, Sylas

Light has been brought about on the convergence, removing all Shadows.

Champions leaving: Evelynn, Kayn

The hunt has ended, and alongside it the Hunters have left the Convergence.

Champions leaving: Aphelios, Ashe, Warwick

Dazzlers are taking their leave as well.

Champions leaving: Ezreal, Lux, Lissandra

Finally we’ll be saying goodbye to a couple of other champions:

Champions leaving: Nami, Hecarim, Xin Zhao, Jinx, Ahri

TFT Set 4.5 news: Changing Champs

These champions are having one of their traits changed to align with the new set update.

Diana: Moonlight to Spirit

Zed: Shade to Slayer

Kindred: Hunter to Executioner

Morgana: Dazzler to Syphoner

TFT Set 4.5 news: New Things

Alongside this we’ve got new champs joining the roster, as well as some new Traits.

Dragonsoul seems to be taking the place of Dusk this mid set expansion, being a powerful high cost trait which allows your champions to deal a percentage of a targets max hp.

Champions are: Tristana, Brand, Braum, Shyvana, OIaf, Aurelion Sol and Swain.

Fabled is a new trait shared by Nautilus, Neeko and Cho’Gath. This trait allows for the users to gain an additional bonus to their skill, this typically means more AOE for the damage dealers, more CC or more tankiness.

Champions are: Nautilus, Neeko and Cho’Gath

Executioner will be relatively familiar for those who played in Set 3 with Valkyrie. Executioners are able to guarantee a critical strike on enemies with lower hp. The more executioners you have, the higher the HP threshold to activate the crit.

Champions are: Kindred, Kayle, Xayah

Remember Olaf from Set 2? He’s back. And with him he brings the Slayer trait. Slayers deal bonus damage to lower health targets, and while low on health themselves heal for a percent of the damage dealt. This is looking to be a really strong trait with a lot of potential carry characters in it.

Champions are: Zed, Pyke, Darius, Olaf, Tryndamere, Samira

Syphoner is a new trait that allows for healing across the board for your team and for your syphoners. Personally this is one of my favourite traits, especially now that Morgana has bonus healing added into her kit.

Champions are: Nasus, Vladimir, Morgana, Swain

New Champions:

A couple of new champions are being added into currently existing traits, or are 5 costs with their own.

Rakan: Elderwood Keeper

Ornn: Vanguard Elderwood Blacksmith

Samira: Slayer Sharpshooter Daredevil
